Chemical Contamination Concerns
Pollutants such as heavy metals (mercury), pesticides, and other chemicals are difficult to assess because possible illnesses are not obvious and are not limited to one particular exposure or cause.
Federal and state health and environmental agencies will issue specific warnings for locations and species if tests warrant concern.
Environmental contamination in seafood is usually a site specific problem.
